Monash University

Tonka Learning started working with Monash University in 2020 on the flagship Management Essentials program and the partnership has gone from strength to strength where we now work across multiple faculties and divisions.

Monash University is Australia’s biggest university for students, consistently ranked in the world’s top 100 universities and with international campuses in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, India and Italy.

Key Deliverables

  • Management Essentials. This flagship program is a 5-module, 5-month program and utilises Tonka Learning’s LMS. The 5 modules are Managing Self, Managing People, Managing The Work, Managing Performance and Managing My Development.

  • Implementing The Strategic Plan. A 1-day workshop, with the goal of bringing the Monash strategy, Impact 2030 to life. This was delivered as a pilot program in April 2022 and is now made available to all leaders. Note, faculties have started to engage Tonka Learning to run a tailored version of this program with their leaders.

  • The Collaborative Leader Masterclass. A 1-day workshop for leaders to build their collaborative skills and embed the Impact 2030 strategy. A pilot was delivered in August 2022.

  • Presentation Skills. We continue to provide Presentation Skills training to meet specific department goals. This training is typically 2-days in duration and includes topics such as communicating with poise, engaging stakeholders, bringing data to life through storytelling and managing resistance.

  • The Elevate Project. The Faculty of IT is embarking on a significant education transformation project that is a major focus over the next 2-3 years. The faculty recently engaged Tonka Learning to support Supervisors and staff with a long-term development program.

  • Academic Performance Supervisor. We have recently won the contract to re-design and facilitate Maximising Conversations, a 3-hour workshop for 680 academic leaders across all campuses.

Outcomes

High engagement levels at all our group workshops. For example:

  • 90% completion of all pre-work.

  • 98% attendance.

  • 95%+ satisfaction levels from our audiences.

Repeat work of same programs. For example, the 5-month Management Essentials program has been delivered 5 times in the first 18-months since launched.

Greater access and exposure of Tonka Learning working directly with Academics across the different faculties.
